Struggle is not a part of God’s plan for the Believer’s life. The lack of rest is connected to not recognizing God’s presence in the situation that we’re in.

What does it mean to struggle? Struggle means to try extremely hard to achieve something. It means to exhaust oneself in an attempt. Struggle is a part of the curse (Genesis 3:17b KJV & NLT). It is often connected to ignorance and disobedience.

Exodus 33:13-15 (NLT)  Rest is not the absence of challenges and problems. The lack of rest is connected to not recognizing God’s presence in the situation that we’re in.

Christians have made a man-made doctrine out of struggle. It is common for us to say, “Well you know we’re going to struggle in life. Everyone struggles in life.”

Many Christians are struggling to rest because:

  • Ignorance of God’s Word
  • Failure to hear and obey God’s Word
  • Failure to recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit and obey it
  • Prideful attempts to do God’s Will in their own strength and power

Proverbs 13:15 (KJV)  We cannot continue to make wrong choices and be successful. We make wrong choices because we’re ignorant of people, places, and things. We make wrong choices because of ignorance. When we make wrong choices, we struggle. Choose Rest.

Confession: I do not live a normal life. I live a supernatural life, built on God’s Word, and empowered by God’s spirit.

“The rest that Jesus is offering, is not rest from work, but rest in work.”
